NEWARK, Del. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team saw its season come to a close in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship First Round with a 61-41 loss to the No. 7 seed William & Mary on Wednesday afternoon in Newark, Del.

th on the all-time scorers list in the Division I era at The College with 1,042 career points.
The teams traded baskets through the opening period, the Tribe pulling ahead until the Cougars responded with a 6-0 run to level the game at 10-10, the run extending to eight straight to give Charleston their first and only lead of the game at 12-10.
From there the Cougars struggled to find a basket, William & Mary capitalizing on turnovers to take a 26-13 lead,
Tyler Collins knocking down six straight points to try and spark the Charleston offense into life.
William & Mary came out hot in the third, pushing their lead to 20 in a matter of minutes, Charleston finally knocking down three-point baskets through Huff and
Deja Ford in-front of the Charleston bench to cut the No. 7 seed's lead back to 19.
That would be as close as the Cougars would come, the Tribe pushing their lead back to 21 at the end of the third, both teams struggling from the floor through the fourth.
Ford hit a team-high 16 points in the fourth but William & Mary kept a double-digit lead the rest of the way to end Charleston's season with a 61-41 loss and with a 7-23 record.
Quotable – Head Coach Candice M. Jackson
On the game…
"A lot of things just weren't working for us, we didn't get the stops that we needed too when we needed too, we missed a lot of layups, we weren't really in sync… We played together yes, but just a little discombobulated… William & Mary, they're a good team, they have good veterans, Bianca Boggs is an amazing player, they made a few more plays than we did, we came up a little short."
On the seniors…
"They've meant everything…
Bri Sullivan, she's come in and she's grown so much as a person, as a player, great senior leadership… We're really going to miss her precense, just being there… Darien, I can't say enough, a four-year starter, she's got better every single year… She's really upped her game, gone from being just a shooter to an all-round player… She was voted captain this year by her teammates, it speaks a lot about who she is as a person… Both Darien and Sully, we're going to miss them a lot."
