
Cougars Defeat Fairfield, Win Sixth Straight Match

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team closed out their pre-Spring Break schedule with a 6-1 victory over Fairfield, the sixth in a row for the Cougars, at Patriots Point on Sunday morning.
Robby Krick and Ben Cawston continued their fine doubles form with a 6-1 victory on court two to move to 11-1 as a duo, Benedikt Henning and Ben Husum teaming up for the first time this season on court three in a 6-1 victory. Easton Thomas and Ksawery Pociej going unfinished on court one when leading 5-3.
Singles action followed with the Cougars racking up five wins over the six courts. Pociej dominated in a 6-2, 6-2, victory on court four, Henning winning 6-0, 6-4, on court one to push Charleston's lead to 3-0.
Krick also won in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, at the No. 6 spot, Andre Limon winning 6-1, 6-2 on court five to push the Charleston lead to five.
The Stags picked up a win on court two for their lone point of the match, Johnny Wang the lone Cougar to go to a third set in a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win to give Charleston the 6-1 victory.
The Cougars now look to a Spring Break trip to Orlando, Fla., in which they face Hope College in midweek action. When returning the men will host Colonial Athletic Association rival Elon on Mar. 25 at Patriots Point.
