Cougars Culminate Visit to Hawaii with Rainbow Relays

Charleston, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's track & field team will compete in the Rainbow Relays on Friday and Saturday as part of its spring break trip to the islands.
The Cougars will feature a host of athletes who rank among the best in their events in the latest Colonial Athletic Association performance list. Leona Burton Rojas, who was injured and missed the indoor season, turned in showings of 12.67 in the 100 and 5.30m (17-4 ¾) in the long jump at the CSU Spring Break Invitational and is eighth in the CAA in both events.
Simone Harris, Brooklynn Barton and Jenny Martin are also among the Top 10 in the league in two events. Harris is fourth in the discus (44.43m, 145-9) and tied for fifth in the shot put (12.79m, 41-11 ½), Barton is seventh in the javelin (37.32m, 122-5) and ninth in the discus (39.89m, 130-10) and Martin is fifth in the 100 hurdles (14.92) and ninth in the javelin (36.20m, 118-9).
Kayla Ennis is the highest-ranking Cougar with her third-place standing in the 400 hurdles (1:06.04) while Courtney Brooks (45.87m, 150-6) and Nicole Lane (37.78m, 123-11) are sixth in the hammer and javelin, respectively.
