MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – UNCW used a nine-run late inning to top College of Charleston, 14-4, and clinch the series between the two Colonial Athletic Association foes on Saturday at Patriots Point.

The Seahawks (23-22, 7-7 CAA) led 5-2 heading into the top of the eighth as the Cougars (27-16, 9-5 CAA) gave up nine runs with four relievers looking to end the hitting spree sparked by pinch hitter Chris Thorburn.

Danny Wondrack hit a solo home run over left field in the bottom of the eighth – his 12th of the season, while Manzo had an RBI single in the third and redshirt senior

Brooks Lucas was credited with the loss pitching 6.1 innings with six strikeouts, while UNCW starter Zarion Sharpe claimed his first win of the season on the mound.
