LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team is one of 189 NCAA Division I programs to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award in 2018-19, presented annually by the association to any collegiate team that maintains at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average during the school year.
This marks the Cougars' 10th AVCA Team Academic Awards since its inception in 1992-93, and the program's fifth since the 2013-14 season. Beach volleyball earned its first-ever academic recognition from the AVCA as one of 41 programs to collect the honor. The Cougars maintained a 3.423 GPA as a combined indoor and beach program during the 2018-19 academic year.
