CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Basketball is set to tip-off conference play as it hosts Drexel at home on Friday, Jan. 3 with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Cougars enter the game with seven wins on the season, matching their win total from last year.
Last Outing
The College took down Western Carolina in the last non-conference game of the season by a score of 73-62 to earn its second consecutive win and seventh of the season. Senior Deja Ford led the way for the Cougars as she tallied 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Madison Taylor poured in a season-high 14 points on 4-9 shooting from deep while senior Cailin Dorsey knocked down three triples en route to nine points in only eight minutes. CofC started the game off on an 8-2 run but the Catamounts tied the game at 16-16 at the end of the first. The Cougars took their largest lead of the game (17) at the 7:14 mark of the third quarter and never let the lead get within single digits.

Drexel enters the game with an overall record of 7-5, with its most recent matchup resulting in a 70-57 win over Maine on Dec. 30, which marks the highest total points scored for Drexel this year. The Dragons have won three out of their last five games, including wins over Maine, La Salle and Villanova.
Head coach Denise Dillon is in the midst of her 17th season at the helm of the program. Dillon has recorded an overall record of 306-204 throughout her head coaching career.
The team is led by Bailey Greenberg who is averaging a team-high 20.9 points per game, which ranks 12th in the entire country. Greenberg also leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.7. She is the only player averaging double-digit points for the Dragons this season.
