
Dunagan and Sowell Shoot Opening-Round 71s at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – College of Charleston seniors Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.)and Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) both shot under-par rounds on the first day of tournament play at the Puerto Rico Classic held at the par-72 River Course located on the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Golf & Beach Resort.
Dunagan and Sowell are tied for 18th after birdying three holes during their opening round to go into the clubhouse with a 1-under 71 on Sunday.
No. 2 Oklahoma leads the 15-team tournament field with a 7-under opening round of 281. No. 3 Georgia Tech is one stroke back of the Sooners in second (-6) followed by No. 18 Georgia and No. 50 Alabama tied for third (-3).
The Cougars are in 12th with an opening-round 293 (+5) finishing ahead of Iowa, East Carolina and Ohio State.
