OPENING SERVE
Â
The men's tennis team rolled into Bethune Cookman on Friday for a match against the Wildcats. It was rough conditions of wind which made for an interesting match.
The Cougars took the doubles point after a comeback on court two from
Johnny Wang and
Noah Borges. The clinch came from court three where
Ben Husum and
Robby Krick showed guts to break serve to win the set giving the Cougars the lead going into singles.
More of the same for singles as the match went back and forth. The Cougars took first punch after a retirement on court three and a quick win on court six to push the Cougars to 3-0.
The Wildcats then rallied to take courts one and two, followed by court four. With all eyes on court five, the lone senior
Easton Thomas, clinched the win for Charleston by score of 6-4, 6-4.

HEAD COACH JAY BRUNER
"It was a team effort to get the doubles point and then have a clinch at 3-3. We need as many of these situations as possible to get us ready for April. Easton [Thomas] did a great job of staying calm and confident on the court today."
