CofC Posts Second-Best Team Round in Program History on Day Two at Evie Odom Invite

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA --- The College of Charleston women's golf team had its best round of the 2021-22 campaign on Day Two of the Evie Odom Invitational on Monday. CofC shot a 3-under 277, the best round among all teams on the course Monday and the second-best team round in program history.
Heading into tomorrow's final round, the Cougars are in second place overall, skyrocketing up five spots on the leaderboard. Head coach Jamie Futrell's squad sits at 4-over par, just three strokes behind first-place Charlotte.
Freshmen Emma Schimpf and MK Talledo are both in the Top 10 individually to lead the Cougars. After a strong even-par 70 at the Princess Anne Country Club on Sunday, Schimpf posted a stellar career-low 2-under 68 on Monday, moving up to T-7 on the leaderboard. Talledo fired a 1-under 69 to catapult up six positions and enter tomorrow's round at ninth overall.
Senior Jodee Tindal sunk four birdies and 11 pars en route to an even-par 70 on Monday. She rose 10 spots on the leaderboard and sits at T-25. Sophomores Emily Dunlap and Viktoria Hund are both at T-30. Dunlap responded in style after a 5-over 75 in Round 1 with an even-par 70 on Monday behind five birdies.
Senior Smith Knaffle has carded back-to-back 72s in Rounds 1 and 2 and will enter the final 18 holes on Tuesday at T-25.
The Cougars are in position to compete for the Evie Odom Invite title on Tuesday with the final round set to tee off in the morning with times beginning at 8 a.m. ET.
