
Charleston Looks to Bounce Back, Defend Home Court vs North Florida

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (3-1, 0-0) looks to rebound from its first loss of the season as it hosts North Florida (4-2, 0-0) in a Saturday afternoon matchup. The game will tipoff at 2:00 p.m. inside TD Arena. It will be available to stream on FloHoops.

- Last time out, the Cougars dropped their first game of the season, losing 69-59 at home to Tarleton State. The Cougars were unable to overcome their worst shooting day of the young season
- CofC ranks first in the CAA in turnover margin (10.5) and opponent FG percentage (34.3 percent)
- The Cougars inserted back-to-back CAA Rookie of the Week winner Grace Abercrombie into Tuesday's starting lineup. It was Abercrombie's first career collegiate start
- Peyton Martin leads the Cougars in scoring with 13.8 points per game while topping the squad in rebounding with 7.5 boards per contest
- Arynn Eady put up an impressive stat line in the loss to Tarleton State. Her 14 points and 13 rebounds gave her double-double number two on the season, but the senior forward also swiped six steals and had four rejections
- Eady ranks fifth on the all-time CofC blocks list with 92 career swats
- Jenna Annecchiarico has been a source of energy for the team. She has averaged 5.3 assists and 5.3 steals per game, including eight of each in the loss to Tarleton State
- Charleston is second in the conference in PPG (79.5) and is fourth in opponent points per game (57.8)
- The Cougars own the biggest scoring margin in the CAA (21.8)
- The Cougars forced 28 turnovers in its last game. CofC has forced more than 20 turnovers in all four games this season
- North Florida is off to a 4-2 start with losses to Florida State and Clemson, two ACC opponents
- Rhetta Moore and Jazz Bond each average more than 20 points per game
- Moore ranks 12th in the nation with a three-point percentage of 59 percent. Bond is not too shabby from deep herself, making 43 percent of her triples
- This is the first time the Cougars and Ospreys have met in the history of the two programs
- The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 30 as Charleston plays host to Georgia Southern to wrap up a three-game homestand. The game will tip at 5:00 p.m. and will be available to stream on Flo Hoops.
