CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (8-3, 0-0) cruised past Florida A&M on Sunday afternoon to clinch a perfect weekend at the Coastal Carolina Christmas Classic.

The win gives Charleston five consecutive victories for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The Cougars also improve to 6-0 away from TD Arena this season.

First Half

FAMU came out of the gate hot, making three of its first four attempts from beyond-the-arc
The Rattlers built an 11-5 lead early in the first quarter
CofC would end the quarter on a 14-4 run, holding a 19-15 advantage after the opening period
It was the second quarter that saw the Cougars really start to gain separation from the Rattlers
Charleston dominated FAMU, 22-4, in the second period
CofC held the Rattlers to 1-of-13 shooting and forced eight turnovers in the quarter

Second Half

FAMU came out of the locker room hot, reeling off an 8-1 run to begin the second half. The spurt trimmed CofC's lead to 42-27
The Cougars would stave off all other attempts at a run by FAMU and entered the fourth quarter with a 58-42 lead
An 8-3 Florida A&M run trimmed the Charleston lead to just 61-50, the smallest the margin would get in the second half
CofC would put the Rattlers away, outscoring FAMU 22-10 the remainder of the contest
The Cougars would go on to win 83-60
