MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Kimbra Owens had a throw of 38.11m (125 feet, 0 inches) in the discus to move into eighth place in College of Charleston history to highlight the final day of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.
Owens set a PR in the event and finished second to be among five Cougars who scored on Saturday as CofC finished third in the team standings.
Cate Ambrose (10:30.75) and Amber Scott (10:59.01) went 1-2 in the 3000. Emily Dorony was fifth in the 1500 (4:55.35), followed by Shannon Smith in sixth (5:05.84). Eileen Vedder just missed the top eight with her time of 5:11.64.
The Cougars return to the Myrtle Beach area next weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
