Cougars Sweep Erskine to Open Palmetto Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team did not drop a set as the Cougars cruised to a 5-0 sweep of Erskine on Friday afternoon to open the weekend at the Palmetto Invitational hosted by South Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars swept each of the five pairings to record their third sweep and ninth victory of the season. Logan Manusky and Ella Ridinger set the tone with a 21-14, 21-12 win at four's and Sky Benjamin and Rebeca Olariu clinched the match victory with a 21-18, 21-18 decision in the top flight.

PAIR OF THE DAY
Amani Dunston and Emma Falk cruised to a 21-13, 21-7 win at five's to register the Cougars' second point of the afternoon and pick up their second victory of the season.

NOTABLES

Ella Reames and Maria Zweig moved to 14-6 on the season with a 21-13, 21-18 win in the second flight.
Kyra Thompson and Hazel Brown posted a 21-12, 21-13 victory at three's in their first match together.
Lilly Johnson and Mikaela Dougherty edged out a 22-20, 26-24 win in the sixth flight.
