CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will travel to Huntsville, Ala. this weekend to begin its quest for the program's first Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championship. The sixth-seeded Cougars are slated to open play with a 2:00 p.m. ET matchup against third-seeded TCU in the Aqua Bracket on Friday, April 23 at the John Hunt Sand Volleyball Complex.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars posted a 2-1 mark at the Palmetto Invitational in Columbia, S.C. last weekend with wins over Erskine and UNCW. Charleston also took a point off No. 16 South Carolina in the final match of the weekend.
THE OPPONENT
TCU comes into the CCSA Championships ranked seventh in the nation with a 23-6 overall record this season. The Horned Frogs have defeated nine ranked foes thus far and have three pairings with at least 20 wins. Olivia Blackburn and Hailey Brockett are 24-3 on the year with 23 wins in the second flight while Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno Mateeva carry a 24-4 record at one's.
