Cougars Split With #7 TCU, Missouri State at CCSA Championships

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team gave No. 7 TCU all it could ask for in the opening round of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championship on Friday in a thrilling 3-2 contest, and bounced back with a 4-1 win over Missouri State in the late afternoon session to advance to Saturday's day two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The second flight proved to be the decisive pairing for the Cougars and Horned Frogs in the first season of the day after Cougars won at four's and five's and TCU earned the point at one's and three's to remain deadlocked at 2-2 with one flight left to play. Logan Manusky and Ella Ridinger were unable to hold onto a 1-0 advantage in the flight as TCU's two's ultimately rallied for a three-set win to take the match, 3-2. Charleston then bounced back with a 4-1 win against Missouri State in an elimination match to advance to Saturday's day two.
PAIR OF THE DAY
Amani Dunston and Emma Falk opened the day rallying for a hard-fought 14-21, 21-15, 20-18 win against TCU's five's. The duo then made quick work of their matchup with Missouri State's No. 5 pairing to finish the day at 2-0 following a 21-8, 21-16 win against the Bears.
