CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston women's soccer squad jumped in front early in its first road match of the season, but Coastal Carolina came storming back to prevail, 2-1.
Freshman Delaney Dawes took advantage of a great chance and scored her first career goal in the 28th minute. She finished with a team-high four shots, including four on goal. The Cougars held Coastal Carolina scoreless in the opening half.
Coastal fought back late, knotting the score at 1-1 in the 67th minute. CofC kept battling, out-shooting the Chanticleers, 17-9 overall on the night, but Coastal Carolina scored the go-ahead goal in the 87th minute to seal a come-from-behind victory.

- Junior Jenna Snead, who earned a spot on the roster in early August, earned her first career start. Freshman Emmie Wannemacher also had her first career start on Sunday night.
- Sunday marked the first time in the all-time series between CCU and CofC in which the home team won. The Chanticleers now lead the series, 5-3-2.
