
Cougars Alter School Record Book at South Carolina Invitational

RESULTS
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Kaitlynn Bailey and Logan Gray entered the College of Charleston indoor record book, and Cate Ambrose and Lily Nowakowski moved up in their events on the first day of the South Carolina Invitational.
Bailey posted a time of 7.96 in the 60 meters to claim the No. 4 spot in school history, and Nowakowski climbed one spot to ninth with a PR of 8.10. Bailey had the 18th-fastest time among the 90 runners in the qualifying round.
Gray made her collegiate debut a successful one with a top mark of 12.08m (39 feet, 7 ¾ inches) in the shot put to take over the sixth spot in the indoor record book. Her performance was good for a tie for 11th on Friday.
Ambrose established a PR in the mile with a time of 5:05.90 and edged up from eighth to sixth while taking 13th place in a field of 78 runners. Kristen Cherry also had a PR, crossing in 5:16.75 to finish 24th.
Laurie Fogleman and Lilli Sustaita turned in top showings in the 300. Fogleman's mark of 44.44 is the seventh-fastest time in school history, and Sustaita's 45.65 places her 10th.
The meet wraps up on Saturday with CofC athletes competing in the 200 and 800 meters as well as the 4x400 and distance medley relays.
