Charleston Begins Stretch Run at Elon

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team begins the second half of its CAA campaign on the road this weekend when the Cougars travel to North Carolina to take on Elon in a pivotal league series. First serve for both Saturday and Sunday's matches is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Cougars enter the weekend in a four-way tie for fourth place in the CAA standings with a 4-4 league record alongside Elon, William & Mary and Northeastern. Charleston jumped back into the thick of the postseason race with back-to-back sweeps of Northeastern last weekend at TD Arena.

She set a new career-high with 10 blocks in last Saturday's sweep of Northeastern en route to being named the CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career on Monday.
- Elon carries a 7-11 overall record and a 4-4 mark in CAA play into the weekend. The Phoenix split with Towson last weekend handing the Tigers their first loss of the season in a five-set battle last Saturday.
- Leah Daniel paces the attack and ranks fourth in the league averaging 3.29 kills per set.
- Sydney Love ranks second on the team in kills (2.39) and third in blocks per set (0.97).
- The Phoenix rank third in the CAA in both blocks (2.27) and digs per set (15.07)
- Jordan Gower leads the league and ranks 28th nationally averaging 4.83 digs per frame.
