HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. --- Gabi Bailey recorded her 17^th career double-double and Lexi Wierzbicki put down 10 kills to pace the offense as College of Charleston fell to Hofstra, 3-1, in CAA action on Sunday afternoon.

Hofstra (11-8, 8-0 CAA) won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 15-25 and 25-15 and combined for 55 kills, 11 blocks and eight service aces. The Pride held Charleston (7-12, 2-4 CAA) to 49 kills, one ace and a .206 hitting percentage.

With Hofstra holding a narrow 8-6 advantage in set two, the Pride embarked on an 8-4 run to open a six-point lead thanks to a service ace from Chiara Cucco. The Pride would go on to win the set, 25-19, to take a 2-0 advantage in the match.

Bailey paced the Cougars with 11 kills and 10 digs to account for her sixth double-double of the season.
Wierzbicki reached double digits for the fourth time in 2022 with 10 kills to go along with three blocks.
Emma Appleman dished out 19 assists and added seven digs.
Sofie Vogel put down seven kills on 12 swings while also recording two blocks.

Match Notes

The Cougars put down 13 kills and combined for a .385 hitting percentage in their 25-15 third-set win.
