
Charleston Returns Home to Host Towson

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team returns home from a four-match road swing to host the Towson Tigers in a pivotal CAA clash as the regular season enters its final stretch. First serve for both Saturday and Sunday's matches is set for 1:00 p.m. at TD Arena.
The Cougars have won five of their last six to enter the regular season's penultimate weekend tied with Elon for fourth in the CAA standings. Towson enters the weekend with a 22-1 overall record, an 11-1 mark in league play and is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top-25 poll.

QUICK HITTERS
- The Cougars carry a 12-6 all-time record against Towson after splitting with the Tigers last season. Towson has won four of the last five meetings.
- With back-to-back wins at Stony Brook last weekend the Cougars clinched their second-straight trip to the CAA Championship. Charleston has featured in all but one CAA Championship since joining the league in 2013 earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
- Senior Logan Pope put together perhaps the best weekend of her career at Stony Brook averaging 3.86 kills per set while compiling a .431 hitting percentage to earn CAA Offensive Player of the Week. The senior exploded for a career-high 19 kills - including eight in the fourth set - in a 3-1 win over the Seawolves on Sunday.
- Charleston's blocking corps has been on a tear over the last four weeks averaging 3.22 blocks per set to climb to 52nd nationally and second in the CAA with a season average of 2.44 per frame.
- Graduate student Claire Campbell made history over the weekend becoming only the 12th player in program history to surpass the 300-block plateau in her career. She is currently six blocks shy of moving into a tie for ninth all-time.
- Towson carries a 22-1 overall record and an 11-1 mark in CAA play after posting a pair of 3-1 wins over William & Mary last weekend.
- The Tigers rank second in the nation in opponent hitting percentage (.131) and are fourth in blocks per set (2.87).
- Nina Cajic leads the CAA and ranks 32nd in the nation with a .384 hitting percentage.
- Victoria Barrett (2.80) paces a quartet of Tigers averaging at least two kills per set including Cajic (2.74), Irbe Lazda (2.59) and Fay Bakodimou (2.32).
- Lydia Wiers enters the weekend ranked second in the league and 28th nationally in blocks per set (1.35).
- Admission is free of charge for all College of Charleston volleyball matches at TD Arena.
- Gates will open one hour prior to first serve of the opening match each day.
- College of Charleston's clear bag policy is in effect for all matches played at TD Arena this fall. The full policy can be found here.
- There is no designated general parking area for games at TD Arena. There are various parking garages and paid lots in the vicinity of TD Arena that all spectators can utilize.
- Alcohol will be available for purchase at all CofC volleyball matches this fall with last call prior to the third set of the final match each day.
