CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston women's basketball guard Jenna Annecchiarico will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 with a season-ending knee injury.
Annecchiarico, a senior from Baldwin, New York, earned All-CAA Second Team honors during her first season with the Cougars in 2021-22. She passed the 1,000-career point mark on January 26 at Northeastern and scored a Division I era program record 36 points in the Cougars 88-72 win over Towson a season ago. She put up several top five single season program records, including most points, steals, assists, and free throws made. She averaged 16.6 points per game with 6.3 assists per game.
A CAA Preseason First Team selection, Annecchiarico was named one of 20 watch list members for the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Award in October. Now in its 24th year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.
