2023 College of Charleston Track and Field Schedule
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Four indoor meets, including the inaugural CAA Indoor Championships, and six outdoor events comprise the 2023 College of Charleston track and field schedule, head coach Amy Seago announced Thursday.
The Cougars open the indoor season January 14 at the Gamecock Open and return to Columbia on February 3-4 for the South Carolina Invitational. Charleston will also compete in a pair of outdoor meets in Columbia, including the Weems Baskin Invitational on March 24-25 and the USC Open on April 22.
The indoor slate also features a pair of visits to the Virginia Beach Sports Center, first with the Blue Marlin Invitational on January 21 followed by the CAA Indoor Championships on February 22-23. The NCAA Indoor Championships take place in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 10-11.
"We have a young crew that is anxious to start competing in the new year," said Seago. "We have a mix of familiar meets and will add the CAA Indoor Championships this year."
In addition to the two outdoor meets at South Carolina, the Cougars return to the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on March 10-11 and the CSU Buccaneer Invitational on March 17-18.
The remaining regular season outdoor meet will be the Duke Invitational on April 6-8, and the CAA Outdoor Championships take place May 5-6 at Zable Stadium in Williamsburg, Va. The NCAA East Preliminary Meet will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 24-27 followed by the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
"The Cougars are excited to work together toward our goals and can't wait to get underway," added Seago.
