
Track and Field Sets Records at Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Charleston track & field placed fourth of 31 teams at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Cougars scored 69.83 points with Savannah Stoutt and Kinsley Allen each scoring 10 in their respective events.
Stoutt placed first in the mile with a time of 4:57.44 for a new school record in the event. Gail Vaikutis also scored in the mile placing fifth for four points with a time of 5:07.18. Her time placed her fourth in the record book in the event.
The 4x100m relay set a new school record of 47.21 for a fifth-place finish and four points. The record setting team consisted of Gabby Brailsford, Trinity Jones, Emma Townsend, and Riley Fisher.
In the high jump, Allen cleared 1.74m for a personal best. Her jump marks her third all-time in the Charleston record book. Also in the high jump was freshman Tori-Ann Anderson, clearing 1.68 to place fourth scoring 4.5 points. Anderson cleared the fourth best all-time height in Charleston's record book. Viktorija Calusic competed in the high jump, clearing 1.60m for a seventh best all-time Charleston jump.
In the 800m, Mia Romer placed third to score six points for Charleston. Romer ran a time of 2:16.77. Andie Harding placed sixth in the event with a time of 2:18.07 to score three points.
All three Cougars in the 3k scored with Cayden Crismon leading the pack placing second and scoring eight points. Crismon crossed the line in a time of 10:08.37.
Elaine Zhai had a fourth-place finish in the pole vault to score five points. The freshman cleared 3.80m. Zhai etched her name in the fourth spot in the Charleston record book. Boston Stringer and Allie Sanfelippo also scored in the event placing fifth and eighth. Stringer cleared a personal best height and moved from ninth all-time to fifth in the record book.
In the 100m dash, Jones ran a time of 12.31 to match the fourth best time in the Charleston record book. Brailsford ran a new fifth best time in the Cougar record book of 12.32 in the event. Jackie Sides matched the seventh best all time 100m dash with a time of 12.41 on Friday.
Townsend ran a new third best all-time in the Charleston record book in the 200m dash with a time of 24.84. Jones trailed with a new fourth best time of 24.95 in the event.
Halli Silberman competed in the long jump placing 15th with a jump of 5.42m. Her jump ties eighth all-time best performance in the Charleston record book.
