
Cougars Ready for Return Game at Delaware

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (11-8, 3-5) will travel to Delaware on Friday for a rematch with the Blue Hens. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. on FloSports.

- The Cougars snapped a two-game skid on Sunday afternoon, trouncing UNCW 87-59 inside TD Arena. The Cougars led 28-11 after the first quarter and never looked back
- Charleston got down 5-1 to start the game, but then reeled off a 24-0 run in the first quarter. During the run, CofC held the Seahawks scoreless for nearly eight minutes
- Charleston forced the Cougars into 33 turnovers and turned them into 35 points. The 33 turnovers were the most Charleston has forced in a game against a division-one opponent this season
- The 24 steals the Cougars recorded are the second most in program history. Jenna Annecchiarico had seven steals by herself, the third-most in a game in school history
- In the win over UNCW, Jenna Annecchiairco, Anika McGarity, and Latrice Perkins combined for 62 of the team's 87 points. Perkins and McGarity scored 20 - a season-high for Perkins - while Annecchiarico dropped 22
- The Cougars changed up its starting lineup for just the second time in 13 games, inserting senior Madison Taylor into the first five
- Tyler Collins sits at 957 points for her career, just 43 away from the 1,000 career points mark. Jenna Annecchiarico recently passed the 1,000 point mark on January 26th at Northeastern
- The Cougars will look to improve on its 5-2 record in true road games
- CofC is 6-1 when scoring more than 80 points and 5-0 when holding its opponent under 60 points
- Charleston ranks fourth in the country in turnover margin and 13th in total turnovers forced
- Additionally, the Cougars rank fifth in the country in steals per game. Annecchiarico is seventh in the country and first in the CAA in individual swipes per contest (3.32)
- Anika McGarity makes 2.75 threes per game, the best mark in the conference and the 23rd best in the nation
- Delaware is in second place in the CAA standings after three consecutive wins. On Sunday, the Blue Hens also scored 87 points. Delaware ran past Elon 87-65
- The Blue Hens are 7-1 in conference play. Delaware and Sunday's opponent - Drexel - split as the preseason favorites to win the league
- Jasmine Dickey had 27 points in Delaware's win over the Phoenix. Dickey is the nation's third leading scorer at 23.9 points per game
- The two programs met at the beginning of 2022 in a game that came right down to the wire. The Blue Hens eeked out an 86-84 overtime win in Charleston
- Delaware leads the all-time series 13-3 and has won 11 of the last 12 matchups
