
Cougars Ready for Regular Season Finale at UNCW

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's tennis team (17-6, 5-0) will close out its regular season slate on Saturday with a trip to CAA rival UNCW (12-5, 1-3). First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. in Wilmington.
The Cougars are facing the Seahawks for the second time in as many matches. Charleston is coming off a 5-1 victory over UNCW at the CofC Tennis Center. The match served as the team's senior day and each of the four seniors won their final home match in Charleston.
Slade Coetzee and Halli Trinkle have each put together impressive campaigns for All-CAA consideration. On the season, the two are 13-4 in doubles play. Individually, Coetzee is 18-2 while Trinkle is 18-3 in singles competition.
Senior Kate Earnhardt has won three consecutive singles matches and currently sits at 10-10 on the season. Alongside playing partner Clara Errard, the duo have put together a solid 9-5 doubles record.
Maja Jekauc and Elizabeth Nowak also put together impressive seasons for the Cougars. Jekauc posted a 14-5 singles record in her first collegiate season, while Nowak went 11-6 in senior year singles action. As a pair, Nowak and Jekauc went 10-4.
The Cougars enter the regular season finale as winners of three straight and 14 of their last 15 matches. Charleston has won 17 matches this season, tying its best win total since 2018. Charleston has clinched the one seed in next weekend's CAA Championships in Elon, N.C. on the campus of Elon University. The Cougars went 5-0 in CAA play, their best conference slate since joining the CAA in 2014.
