Tanner McCallister combined to drive in nine runs to help College of Charleston celebrate Senior Day with a 14-9 win over Charleston Southern on Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charleston Southern struck first pushing across one run in the top of the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
- The Cougars answered with their first of three crooked numbers in the second scoring five runs on only two hits to jump in front, 5-1.
- After trading runs in the fourth, Charleston broke the game open with a four-run fifth highlighted by a bases-clearing double from McCallister to put the Cougars ahead, 10-2.
- The Cougars would add one in the sixth before plating three in the eighth on a two-run homer by Donald Hansis and an RBI single from Will Baumhofer.
- Charleston Southern once in each of the seventh and eighth frames and pushed across five runs in the ninth to equal the final margin of 14-9.
KEY COUGARS
- Mershon went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles and a season-high four RBI to pace the offense.
- McCallister drove in a career-high five runs with a two-run single and a bases-clearing double.
- Cole Mathis drew three walks and scored three runs.
- Hansis celebrated his Senior Day with a pinch-hit two-run homer in the eighth.
- Luke Wood worked a pair of walks and came around to score twice.
- Brooks Lucas worked two shutout innings to earn his first win of the season.
- Ryan Smith fanned two in a scoreless sixth.
FOR THE NOTEBOOK
- The victory extends Charleston's win streak to five games and marks the Cougars' 18th victory in their last 20 games.
- Charleston's 14-run outburst is tied for its second-highest run total this season and the first time the Cougars have reached double digits in back-to-back games this spring.
- The Cougars batted .348 (8-for-23) with runners on and .333 (6-for-18) with men in scoring position.
