HOW IT HAPPENED

- Choboy unloaded on a 2-0 pitch moments later launching a mammoth two-run blast to left to put the Cougars ahead, 3-0.
- Wood added the exclamation point in the next at bat sending a 1-2 pitch over the wall in right center for his seventh homer of the season.
- Elon got on the board in the fourth when Luke Stephenson led off with a double and scored on a sac fly to trim the margin to 4-1.
- The Cougars answered in the fifth stretching the advantage back to four runs on an RBI ground out by Wood that plated Trotter Harlan from third.
