PHILADELPHIA – Drexel scored four goals in the second half to break open a close game and the Dragons downed College of Charleston, 5-0, on Saturday in Philadelphia.
The Cougars lost in conference play for the first time this season and are 2-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the CAA.
Drexel (4-2-3, 2-1-1 CAA) got four goals off the bench from Harrison Coron, with his first breaking a scoreless tie in the 42nd minute. The Dragons took 17 shots and limited Charleston to only six.
Iker Carew led the Cougars with two shots and was joined by
George Maxwell and
Chris Matlashewski with shots on goal.
Charleston will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they begin a three-game homestand with a non-conference match against UNC Asheville at 7 p.m.
