Cougar Women Take Sixth at CAA Championships; Men Finish Eighth

MECHANICSVILLE, VA. – College of Charleston placed all five women's scorers in the top half of the 111-runner field and finished in sixth place at the CAA Championships on Friday at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
Rhian Purves (22:06.0) and Savannah Stoutt (22:08.00) were 27th and 28th, respectively, in the 6k race with Purves leading the Cougar pack for the sixth time in as many meets this fall. That duo was joined by Sophia Brown (30th, 22:11.5), Maeve Gimbert (39th, 22:32.0) and Hannah Wise (50th, 23:00.6).
The men had two top 50 finishers and took eighth. Mitchel Drees again led the team by placing 35th with an 8k time of 26:08.6. Jackson Reid was the No. 2 Cougar with a time of 26:57.2 to take 50th, followed by Tucker Green (58th, 27:19.6), Ben Ashmore (61st, 27:24.4) and Rob DiMedio (68th, 27:57.7).
Rounding out the women competitors were Cayden Crismon (23:13.0), Andie Harding (23:15.6) and Sydney Peer (23:17.9). Also racing for the men were Dylan McTigue (28:00.9), Roger Brown (28:25.2), Hammer Blair (28:26.8) and Joshua Keifer (29:49.3).
Both teams conclude their season on November 10 at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Spartanburg, S.C.
