CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's basketball head coach Robin Harmony has announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.
Joining the program next fall are twins Alana and Leah Philpotts from Newhaven, C.T. Both attended Hamden High School and will be the second set of twins on the roster.
Also joining the program is Raeanne Nicole Eccleston from Orlando, Fla., graduating from Colonial High School, as well as Celina Blount from Liberty Township, Ohio and Lakota East High School.
Leah Philpotts will be entering the program as a two-time All-State player and Scc Player of the Year her junior year.
"Leah is a dynamic combo guard with level 3 scoring ability," said Coach Harmony. "She is electric off the bounce and can create for others."
Alana Philpotts is heading into her senior season as a three-time all Scc First-Team Player, as well as with two All-State honors.
"Alana is also a combo guard," said Harmony. "She's a physical defender that doesn't mind mixing it up. Excels in transition with a knack for hitting the 3 ball."
Celina Blount joins after receiving the Greater Miami Conference Defensive Player of the Year award at her respective high school.
Celina is an athletic long post," Harmony says. "She's an exceptional long shot blocker with perfect timing. She can run like a guard and has a developing low post game."
Raeanne Eccleston joins as a three-time metro champion and a two-time regional champion with her high school.
"Raeanne is a physical post," said Coach Harmony. "She brings energy with a high motor. She's dominant on the block and a high volume rebounder."
