CHARLESTON, S.C.-- The College of Charleston women's basketball team fell to Stony Brook 82-75 at TD Arena on Friday night.
The Cougars dropped to 10-14 with a CAA record of 5-9. Stony Brook moved to 15-9 with a CAA record of 9-4.
Jada Logan led the Cougars with 27 points and
Anika McGarity followed behind her with 17 points.
Naylee Cortes earned her seventh start of the season with 21 minutes for the Cougars.
Anastasia Warren had a game-high 30 points for Stony Brook.
College of Charleston will hit the road to face Elon on Sunday with tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
How It Happened
- Stony Brook leapt out to an 8-3 lead with just over six minutes into the first quarter. The Cougars combated with some head-to-head competition to bring them within just shy of the Seawolves at 15-13 to end the quarter.
- In the middle of the second quarter, the Cougars broke way with a 15-2 run to bring them ahead 34-22 with just over five minutes left. Charleston added seven triples in the second quarter, four of them from McGarity.
- With just over two minutes left in the third quarter, Stony Brook chipped at Charleston's lead with a 15-2 run to bring them ahead of the Cougars 55-53. The Cougars and Seawolves snuck a head-to-head point dual to end the third which brought the score even at 60-60.
- Stony Brook pulled ahead in the fourth with a 12-2 run over Charleston with just under five minutes to give the Seawolves a 74-64 lead. The Cougars responded with a 9-0 run with just under two minutes remaining in the quarter but was not enough to overcome to Seawolves run.
