ORLANDO, Fla. - Hoping to build on a successful fall campaign, the College of Charleston women's golf program will resume competition at the UCF Challenge in Orlando.
The UCF Challenge will feature three top ten teams in No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 3 Texas A&M, and No. 9 Mississippi State. 12 of the 18 teams competing are currently inside the NCAA Regionals qualifying standards.
"We are definitely not easing into the spring season," said head coach Jamie Futrell. "This is possibly the toughest lineup we will see all year. The team looks good in practice and we are ready to get the spring started."
The Cougars ended the fall with a third place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational and a No. 26 ranking in the country. Emma Schimpf and Viktoria Hund earned Co-CAA Golfer of the Week honors after the trip to Hawaii. Schimpf will start the spring ranked No. 37 in the Women's Collegiate Individual Rankings by GolfWeek.
