COLUMBIA, S.C. – College of Charleston beach volleyball went 1-1 Friday to open the Palmetto Invitational taking the season series from Jacksonville in a 4-1 win before falling 4-1 to Florida Gulf Coast.

  • Charleston claimed the season series over Jacksonville taking a dominant 4-1 win Friday morning.
  • Charleston won in two sets on each of the first four courts in their triumph over the Dolphins and came within a set of sweeping the match.
  • Florida Gulf Coast tallied the first four points in the finale before Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson posted their second win of the day.
