CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston men's soccer head coach Keith Wiggans announced the promotion of Rob Seaton to associate head coach on Monday morning.
"I have seen massive growth in Rob as a coach and even more as a person," said Wiggans. ""He has helped bring great talent to the team over the last few years in his role as recruiting coordinator."
This fall will be Seaton's fifth season on Coach Wiggans's staff. He will continue to be involved in all aspects of the Cougar's program from recruiting, coaching, and managing the team operations as well as individual student-athletes.
"He also has a strong voice on the field and commands high standards from our team. I have complete trust in Rob as we will continue to grow this team to compete for CAA championships."
Seaton has coached six All-CAA student-athletes, four All-CAA rookies, and the reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Chris Elliott. In his debut campaign, Elliott was ranked fifth in the CAA in scoring with eight goals and 17 points.
Additionally, the 2022 Charleston team set a program record in the classroom with a cumulative 3.43 GPA.
Prior to coming to Charleston, Seaton was an assistant at Lander College for three seasons. During his time on staff at his alma mater, he was a part of three national title appearances and a Peach Belt Conference championship. Lander earned back-to-back PBC regular season titles and two consecutive conference tournament finals.
