Cougars Head to North Carolina for Adidas XC Challenge

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston cross country teams are back in action Friday when they compete in the Adidas Challenge at WakeMed Park in Cary, N.C.
The men's 6k race goes off at 5:15 p.m. followed by the women's 5k at 5:50 p.m. The field includes CAA members Campbell, Elon, NC A&T and William & Mary as well as teams from Coastal Carolina, Duke, East Carolina, NC State and Richmond.
The meet is the second of the season for the Cougars. Rhian Purves and freshman Mitchel Drees were the top runners at the Buccaneer Invitational on September 1, with Purves taking third in the women's 4k and Drees finishing 14th in the men's 6k.
Sophia Brown and Savannah Stoutt also finished in the top 10 for the women, and Drees was joined by fellow freshmen Rob DiMedio and Roger Brown as scorers for the men.
Following Friday's meet, Charleston will run at the Live in Lou Classic in Louisville, Ky., on September 30.
