Taryn Barbot Earns Third CAA Rookie of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. - College of Charleston freshman guard Taryn Barbot has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week after a pair of road wins versus North Carolina A&T and Elon.
Barbot averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game, leading Charleston to its first 2-0 start in CAA play since 2019-20. On Sunday, the freshman guard tallied a game-high 22 points with six rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 57-45 win at Elon. The performance came after 13 points, six rebounds and two steals on the road against North Carolina A&T in Charleston's 63-58 conference-opening victory. Barbot has reached double figures in six straight games and has 20 or more points four times this season.
This is Barbot's third Rookie of the Week nomination and is one of two Charleston players to have earned weekly accolades this season.
The Cougars will return to the court on Friday, January 12 to take on Drexel at home.
