CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's track and field team will stay in the Carolinas for the majority of their 2025 season, head coach Michael Tornifolio announced Monday.
Following their intrasquad meet in Mt. Pleasant on December 6-7, the Cougars open the indoor campaign at the Dick Taylor Challenge in Chapel Hill, N.C., on January 17. The team will make its annual appearance in the Gamecock Invitational on February 1 and compete in the Camel City Distance in Winston-Salem, N.C., on February 8.
Consecutive trips to Virginia Beach conclude the indoor season, beginning with the DI Pre-Nationals on February 14-15 and the CAA Championships on February 26-27.
Several familiar meets are on tap for the start of the outdoor portion of the schedule, beginning with the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on March 14-15 and the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C., the following weekend.
The Cougars make back-to-back visits to North Carolina for the Raleigh Relays on March 27-29 and the Duke Invitational on April 10-12. The team is in the Sharonda Coleman Classic in Orangeburg, S.C., on April 19 with selected athletes at the Wake Forest Invitational the same day.
Athletes slated to compete in the CAA Championships will be part of the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 2-3 with the conference meet taking place in Greensboro, N.C., on May 14-15.
"We are excited for what this schedule holds," said Tornifolio. "It's always nice to return to meets that have provided us with great performances. The team also gets the chance to compete at some new venues that will provide new challenges while delivering the student-athlete experience."
