Tavarez Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - College of Charleston sophomore Deywilk Tavarez has been named the CAA Player of the Week after his performance at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.
Tavarez was named to the Diamond Head Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a pair of victories last week. The sophomore made seven 3-pointers and scored a season-high 30 points in a 77-68 win over Loyola Chicago and followed with 15 points and six rebounds as the Cougars beat Charlotte, 84-81. Tavarez has scored double figures in five straight games.
This is the first CAA honor of Tavarez's career.
