Women's Golf Returns to Florida for Spartan Sun Coast Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team returns to Florida for their second straight tournament, playing in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational hosted by Michigan State on February 18 and 19.
The 54-hole tournament on the Champions Course at the Palm Aire Golf Club in Sarasota begins with the first and second rounds on Sunday, Feb. 18. It concludes with a final round on Monday, Feb. 19.
The 13-team field features 11 current top-75 teams, including No. 24 North Carolina, No. 26 Purdue, No. 31 Michigan State, No. 38 Tennessee, No. 41 Miami, No. 47 Ohio State, No. 53 Oklahoma, No. 55 Kent State, No. 61 NC State, No. 66 Nebraska and No. 67 College of Charleston.
Charleston is coming off a T4 finish at the UCF Challenge. The Cougars shot a team total of 856 (-8) and tied with #13 UCF and #14 Northwestern in the final standings. Charleston finished higher than eight Power 5 schools in the final standings. Adrian Anderson (-5), Viktoria Hund (-1), and Emily Dunlap (-1) all finished under par. In addition, Charleston recorded the second most birdies of the tournament with 51 while Anderson led the field with 15. Anderson earned CAA Golfer of the Week honors following the outstanding showing in Orlando.
