CHARLESTON, S.C. – Former Georgetown and South Carolina standout Tre Campbell joins Chris Mack inaugural coaching staff as the Director of Player Personnel.
Campbell, who will also serve as an assistant coach for the Cougars, comes to Charleston after serving as an assistant coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida since 2021.
"We are excited to add Tre Campbell to our staff in the role of Director of Player Personnel. I've know Tre since he was in high school and have watched his climb from being a high level player to now coaching collegiately. Over the last three years, Tre has gained valuable experience at heralded IMG Academy working with some of the nation's best high school student athletes," said Mack.
While at IMG, Campbell handled all aspects of scouting, recruiting, and player development. He coached three NBA draft picks and four McDonald's All-Americans during his time in Bradenton. His athletes participated in the McDonald's All-American Games, Nike Hoop Summit Class, Jordan Brand All-American Game, Iverson Classic, Capital Classic, and Under Armor Elite 24.
Prior to IMG, Campbell was a coach with Team Takeover and played professionally in Bosnia for one season.
"Tre has been well schooled in the game, playing for some legendary high school and college coaches. I have a lot of confidence that he will be able to pass on the lessons he learned as a player to the student athletes on our roster. He will be a valuable asset to our guys willing to invest extra time in their game."
The Washington, D.C. native competed for John Thompson III at Georgetown before transferring to South Carolina under Frank Martin for his final season of play. During his final season, he saw action in all 32 games with 29 starts on the year averaging 7.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and a team high 2.96 assists.
