Women's Golf Opens 2024-25 Season at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team returns to action on Monday, September 9 when the program hosts the 2024 Cougar Classic. In its 21st year, the nationally renowned Cougar Classic will take place over two days at Yeamans Hall Club with 36 holes on Monday and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
"We once again will have a challenging schedule this year. We always open up against some of the best teams in the country by hosting the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club," said Charleston head coach Jamie Futrell.
The Cougars will host Virginia Tech, No. 21 Ole Miss, Maryland, SMU, NC State, No. 6 Auburn, No.22 Florida, Georgia Southern, No. 13 LSU, Georgia, Furman, Miami, Penn State, Boston College, Georgetown, and Tennessee.
Charleston returns All-CAA performers Emma Schimpf and Adrian Anderson. Sophomore Emilie von Finckenstein, junior Molly Hardwick, and senior Mary Kathryn Talledo round out the opening lineup. Emilia von Glahn, Amy Stavely, and Taylor Sieg will compete at individuals in their first tournament as a Cougar.
The tournament at Yeamans Hall Club is open to the public and admission is free. Play begins Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start after the tournament officially tees off with a special bagpipe ceremony.
