CHARLESTON, S.C.- The College of Charleston women's basketball team starts conference play 1-0 after defeating Towson on Friday night, 67-50.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars outscored the Tigers in the final three quarters to secure their first win over Towson since December of 2022.
- An 8-0 scoring run gave Charleston the lead halfway through second quarter, holding the lead for the remainder of the contest.
- A steal in the final seconds of the first half was converted into a buzzer-beater layup by Jazmyn Stone, giving the Cougars a seven-point lead heading into the break.
- A three-point bucket from Taryn Barbot opened the second half, giving Charleston its first double-digit lead in the contest.
- A 6-0 run in the final frame gave Charleston their largest lead of the game by 17 points after back-to-back steals by Nyah Willis and Lara Rohkohl.
LEADING COUGARS
- McKinley Brooks-Sumpter knocked down 16-points on the night, her highest-scoring game in a Charleston jersey.
- Lara Rohkohl recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The junior forward also found four blocks on the night.
- Taylor Barbot tallied her sixth-straight double-digit game, knocking down 10 points on the night along with six rebounds.
- Taryn Barbot found ten rebounds in the matchup, along with seven points.
