CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team will celebrate the varsity program's 50
th anniversary throughout the 2025-26 season.
"The 50th anniversary of the College of Charleston women's basketball program is a special milestone," head coach
Robin Harmony said. "We're excited to celebrate the past players, coaches, staff and everyone who has helped shape the program to become what it is today. We have high expectations for this season, and we look forward to competing in front of our fans."
The January 25th game against NC A&T will serve as the main celebratory night and commemorate the 50 years of the program's existence. The 1974-75 Charleston women's basketball team, which was the first-ever varsity squad, will be honored at the game.
Also on the 25th,
Breanna Bolden – who holds nine program records in Charleston's D1 era – will be honored and have her number hung in the rafters.
"Getting my jersey retired is a dream come true," said Bolden. "From my first days as a Freshman, I always had my eyes on the rafters and wanted my jersey to be up there one day. To see it actually happen is a true full circle moment and I'm extremely blessed to be a part of such an incredible program."
The 25th will also be alumni day and all Cougar women's basketball alumni are encouraged to be in attendance. Alumni can fill out the interest form

Charleston was picked as the preseason favorite in the Coastal Athletic Association Coaches' Poll earlier this month, and the Cougars will begin their 2025-26 campaign at home against Covenant College Monday, November 3rd. The Cougars' full schedule can be found
