
Cougars Win on Senior Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston won its 18th match of the season Sunday afternoon, defeating Elon in four sets (25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-17) on Senior Day at TD Arena.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 18-9 overall and 12-4 in the CAA while the Phoenix slip to 7-20 and 5-11 in league play.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST ELON:
- Charleston held Elon to a .078 hitting percentage in the victory.
- Freshman Caroline Noonan and senior Morgan Cobb each had a game-high 13 kills while Noonan added four blocks.
- Freshman Jumana Martin collected 18 digs across the four sets to go along with five assists and three service aces.
- Senior Bella Sinacori ripped off a career-best seven kills, hitting .400 Sunday.
- CofC tallied seven service aces in the win and have had at least six in the last five matches.
- Senior Olivia Mae Van Der Werff ended the match with her fifth kill of the afternoon.
- Down 7-5 in the fourth set, Charleston went on a 9-0 run to help give the Cougars the lead for good and secure the win.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston improves to 35-5 against Elon all time and 14-2 in four-set matches.
- Martin's 557 digs are the most in a campaign by a Cougar freshman since Marie Dobrenz tallied 626 digs in 2003.
- Martin concluded CAA play with a conference-leading 353 digs and 5.43 digs per set.
- CofC has 164 service aces, surpassing 2024's total of 161. The 164 aces are good for eighth all-time in the Rally Scoring Era.
- Freshman Caroline Noonan finished the regular season fourth in the CAA with a .340 hitting percentage and third with 104 blocks.
