WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – College of Charleston volleyball earned a berth to the 2025 CAA Volleyball Championship with a straight set victory (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) at William & Mary Friday evening at Kaplan Arena.

Graduate Izzy Marinelli had a game-best 18 kills as the Cougars improve to 16-8 overall and 10-3 in conference action. The Tribe slips to 9-15 overall and 4-9 in league play.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST WILLIAM & MARY:

Charleston hit .256 with 16 kills in the second set Friday.
Freshman Jumana Martin helped lead the defense for The College, digging out 25 balls across the three frames.
Freshman Julia Gnida hit a career-high .455 (min. 10 kills), finishing the win with 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
Freshman Makena Parthen had four blocks in the victory while freshman Caroline Noonan and junior Lauren Dow each tallied three.
Dow picked up her 13th double-double of the season with 31 assists and 11 digs.
Charleston dished out eight service aces, paced by Martin's three.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 19-5 against William & Mary in the all-time series and 12-0 in three set contests.
Marinelli's 13th kill of the evening was the 800th of her collegiate career.
Marinelli has at least 18 kills in three of the last four matches and 10-plus kills in 10 of the last 11 matches.
Martin amassed 20 digs in a match for the 13th time this season.
