Barbot's triple-double (14 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) was just the third triple-double in program history, and the first since Jada Logan accomplished the feat in 2022.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charleston struck first off a Tyja Beans jumper, but back-to-back threes from Charleston Southern gave them an early lead. The Cougars then went on a quick 6-0 burst to regain the lead midway through the first period.
- Taryn Barbot got to the line and went 5-for-5 from the stripe as her seven first quarter points helped CofC hold an 18-15 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
- With the difference remaining the same with two minutes left in the half, Leah Philpotts provided a spark to help CofC go on an 8-0 run and take control of the game. Philpotts scored five straight points before forcing a steal and hitting Sophia Tougas for a fastbreak layup to give Charleston an 11-point lead. CofC would hold a 42-33 advantage heading into the locker room.
- Beans led all players with 11 points in the third, while Grace Ezebilo collected the Cougars first double-double of the year (13 points, 12 rebounds) as Charleston headed to the fourth quarter with a 67-55 lead.
- CofC scored the first seven points of the final period to build a 19-point advantage and force an early timeout from Charleston Southern.
- The Cougars held off the Buccaneers, never letting them get closer than 15 points for the rest of the game as Charleston improved to 2-0 with an 80-65 win inside TD Arena.
- Junior Taylor Barbot recorded the third triple-double in program history, tallying 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

- The Cougars dominated the boards, winning the rebounding battle 55-32, including 27 offensive rebounds.
- CofC forced 14 turnovers and scored 21 points off Charleston Southern turnovers.
- Charleston outscored CSU 15-6 on fast break points and 28-24 on points in the paint.

- "The atmosphere in the gym today was incredible," head coach Robin Harmony said. "Our marketing team did a great job packing the stands and our players were able to feed off the energy all game. We were able to battle through Charleston Southern's early threes, and our coaching staff did a great job making adjustments. Today was a good win over a good Charleston Southern team. Now it's time to move on and get ready for Iona next week."
- Charleston will return to action Friday, November 14 for its final home non-conference game with a matchup against Iona inside TD Arena at 4 p.m.
- Mike Ward and Steve Vecchione will have the call on FloCollege and the stream can be found here.
