
Gavalas Leads Cougars at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – Jeorgi Gavalas posted a time of 2:14.41 in the 800m to move into fifth place in school history to lead the College of Charleston track and field team at the Duke Invitational.
Abby Mogg missed a spot in the top 10 in the same event by .13 seconds with a time of 2:16.20. The duo also paced the Cougars in the 1500m with Gavalas finishing in 4:34.57 and Mogg crossing in 4:41.87.
Caroline Cassidy had a time of 58.74 in the 400 to lead the sprinters. Kinsley Allen cleared 1.61m (5'3 ¼") in the high jump, and Abby Fush had a mark of 5.16m (16'11 ¼") in the long jump to lead the field events.
Charleston returns to action at the Sharonda Coleman Classic in Orangeburg next Saturday.
