GREENSBORO, N.C. – College of Charleston baseball launched four home runs in a 12-2 eight inning win at North Carolina A&T Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars earned their first sweep of the season, improving to 31-19 overall and 13-11 in the CAA. The Aggies fall to 15-34 overall and 9-15 in league action.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST NORTH CAROLINA A&T:
- Charleston's offense jumped on the Aggies pitching early, scoring three runs in the top of the first.
- Leading 3-1 in the fourth, LaCoste slugged the 3-1 offering over the left field wall for his first collegiate home run. Two innings later, the freshman made it a 5-2 ballgame with a solo shot to right center.
- Pendergrass slugged his third homer of the campaign, a two-run shot to make it 7-2.
- Leading 8-2 in the top of the eighth, Charleston crossed the plate four time to put the run rule into effect.
- Neaves' two-run blast gave the Cougars a dozen runs and a double-digit score for the fourth time in the last five games.
- Sophomore Hayden Thomas allowed two runs over four innings of work before handing the ball off to senior Aidan Hunter, who closed out the game with four scoreless frames. Hunter improved to 6-3 on the season, needing just 47 pitches to help secure the run rule victory.
- Pendergrass crossed the plate three times for the second consecutive game.

- Charleston improves to 14-5 against North Carolina A&T in the all-time series and 5-1 as the visitors.
- LaCoste is the first CofC true freshman with a multi-homer game since 2015.
- Senior Tyler Sorrentino extended his hitting streak to ten games, which is tied for the longest this season by a Cougar.
- CofC has scored multiple runs in the first inning in four of the last five ballgames.
- Pendergrass swiped a pair of bags Sunday, giving him 34 on the year.
- Charleston's 94 stolen bases are the most in a season since 2019 when the Cougars swiped 118 bags.
- CofC improves to 12-1 this season and 91-5 overall under head coach Chad Holbrook when scoring 10-plus runs.
- Charleston's pitching staff has a 2.77 ERA during its six-game winning streak.
- The four homers hit Sunday are a season-high for the Cougars.
