MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – No. 4 College of Charleston baseball beat No. 6 Elon, 4-2, Friday morning, advancing in the elimination bracket in the 2025 CAA Baseball Championship.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST ELON:
- Charleston jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single from senior Dylan Johnson and two-run knock off the bat of senior Tyler Sorrentino.
- Leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, freshman Landon Penfield launched his ninth homer of the season, a solo shot over the right field wall.
- After giving up a run in the eighth, Charleston handed the ball to senior Davis Aiken, who locked down his 13th save of the season with the four out stop.
- With a runner on first and one out, CofC turned the game-ending double play to secure the victory.
- Senior Dariyan Pendergrass stole his 40th and 41st bases in the first inning, becoming just the third player in program history to steal 40 bags.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is now 47-33 all-time against Elon, 23-17 at home and 6-2 in the CAA Tournament.
- Sorrentino's 17-game hitting streak is tied for the eighth-longest in program history with Brett Gardner (2004) and Daniel Aldrich (2011).
- Pendergrass has stolen multiple bases in ten ballgames this season and has sole possession of the second-most bags in a single season with 41.
- Aiken's 24 career saves are third in program history.
- Charleston's 114 stolen bases are the seventh all-time in school history.
