RICHMOND, Va. – Taryn Barbot earned the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week award after a stellar first weekend of conference play.
Leading the Cougars to a 2-0 start in CAA play, the Floral Park, N.Y. native averaged 26.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, all while shooting 54.3% from the field and 61.1% from beyond the arc with 11 total threes.
In Charleston's 72-55 win over Hofstra Friday evening, the junior guard had a game-high 24 points to go along with seven boards and six assists. She also shot 50% from the field and made three triples against the Pride.
Then in CofC's 85-58 win over Northeastern Sunday afternoon, Barbot poured in eight threes as she went 8-for-11 from beyond the arc (.727). Also against the Huskies, she had a game-leading 29 points, while also contributing four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal.
This is Barbot's sixth time being named the CAA Player of the Week, and her third time earning the honor this season. She also earned the honor three times last year and garnered the 2024-25 Player of the Year award. Coming into the 2025-26 season, Barbot earned the Preseason CAA Player of the Year award, and was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
Additionally, she's scored 1,317 points as a Cougar and is 13th on Charleston's all-time scoring list. She's also just the seventh Cougar in program history to score over 1,000 points and grab over 500 rebounds.
The Cougars will be back in action Friday night for a matchup at William & Mary. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., the game will be streamed on FloCollege and a link to the stream as well as live stats can be found on the women's basketball schedule page at cofcsports.com.
